Haney Horsemen have been volunteering and coordinating with local government for over 50 years to enhance, maintain, improve and preserve the network of 100+ km municipally-sanctioned equestrian and hiking trails.

Our passion for trail stewardship has deep roots and our decades of commitment to the municipality has succeeded in making Maple Ridge the “Horse Trail Capital of British Columbia”.

The record of volunteerism by long-serving members of the HHA, such as Sherman Olson and Bill Archibald, who also founded Trails BC and Horse Council of BC (the largest equestrian organization in Canada), David John Smith, Tim Wittenberg, George Fulton and John Denton to name just a few, is unmatched by any other community group in Maple Ridge’s history of outdoor recreation.
